as promised, back to stories before paris.
périgueux. an hour and a half from where we camped in jarnac, cognac.
empty as everywhere else in france on sundays, it was still a charming old town with its castle and alleyways.
several restaurants were obviously open, but none intrigued me like this hidden paradise led by a secret entrance.
if you haven’t been served by a man wearing a hermes belt and holding a sword (bonjour, patrick!) in your life, this is your chance!
the garden is amazing, i couldn’t even be bothered to take a look inside the building.
the food is second to none – is it any wonder that it’s in le guide michellin? i call their food ‘cooking with passion’.
kicking flavour and beautiful presentation in a romantic garden, nothing to fault this place – you really get your money’s worth!
what a wonderful find indeed!
